Anglican Relief & Development published the following review of Planting Faith
“This project was especially appropriate for Embu, Meru, Kirinyaga and Mbeere dioceses, which lie at the beginning of variety of agro-ecological zones in Kenya. The project gave people an opportunity to rise out of poverty by providing loans and agricultural training on how to prepare the soil for planting, install an irrigation system, planting techniques, crop maintenance and crop marketing. Response to the training was overwhelming.
As a result of the training, a total of 800 family members increased their willingness to receive and learn from Scripture. Two hundred increased in their understanding of Scripture, while another 200 farmers participated in the farming programs employing Christian discipleship principles.
….this project was a success for Planting Faith Ministries. In Embu diocese, a total of 50 farmers participated in sunflower farming, processing and marketing. Of the participants, 42 repaid their loans and eight dropped out the program and had their loans forgiven. Additionally, 30 new farmers joined the program for the current growing season.”
